Day two of Inter-village Cross Country Championship for Boys and Girls organised at Vilgam

Srinagar: Second day of Cross-Country Championship witnessed participation of 517 boys of junior category from Ramhal, Kupwara, Magam and Taratpora block. 

The young enthusiastic participants were continuously motivated enroute of 5 Km by a total of 58 teachers, who accompanied their respective teams. Zakir Fayaz Dar of Glisten school Vilgam, secured first position, Umar Subhan of UPS Chak Pazipura school secured second position and Kaisar Rashid of UPS Darel Payeen school secured third position.

They were awarded cash prizes of Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively. Consolation cash prizes along with a medal and certificate were also presented to top 10 participants. 

All participants and teachers were also provided with refreshments. They requested the Indian Army to continue organising such events as it motivates students to continue indulging in physical activities.
