As the political landscape intensifies ahead of the Telangana assembly elections on November 30, a disturbing incident has come to light during a campaigning program organized by AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi in Hyderabad. In a video circulating on social media, an elderly woman was heard issuing a death threat to BJP’s controversial MLA from the Goshamahal assembly constituency, Raja Singh.
Shockingly, as the woman spoke of “murdering” Raja Singh, supporters of Asaduddin Owaisi were seen cheering in the video, raising concerns about the political discourse and the atmosphere leading up to the polls.
“Ye sher maa ka baccha hai ye, dushmanon ko khatam karo. Musalmano ki duaa hai beta aap log ko. Saari duniya aap log ke peeche hai, who majlum k****, mereko khara karo wahan se, Raja Singh ke mahalle se…mai uski murder kar dalunga (Owaisi is son of a tiger mother. End the enemies now. You have the prayers of Muslims with you. That tyrant there, nominate someone from that seat of Raja Singh. Make me contest from the constituency, I will murder him),” the woman is heard saying in the video.
The inflammatory remarks and the enthusiastic response from some supporters have raised concerns about the tone and conduct of political discourse in the state. The video has garnered attention on social media platforms, with calls for responsible campaigning and adherence to ethical standards.
Both AIMIM and BJP have not yet officially commented on the incident. As the election date approaches, political leaders and parties are urged to maintain decorum and ensure that the electoral process is conducted in a fair and peaceful manner. The Election Commission is expected to take cognizance of the matter and investigate if any electoral rules or ethical guidelines have been violated.
