Appointment of Ambani-Adani sons to the Economic Advisory Board is only for the privatization of Mahavitaran

Mumbai: The private power companies have set their eyes on the state-owned power company Mahavitaran and the employees of the electricity companies in the state have gone on strike to prevent the privatization of this company. “Has the Shinde-Fadnavis government put Maharashtra on sale?”, questioned an angry Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Nana Patole.

It is a ploy of the Shinde-Fadnavis government to hand over an important and profitable company to a private industrialist like Adani. It seems that the sons of Ambani-Adani have been appointed to the Economic Advisory Council (EAC) of the state only to facilitate the privatization of Mahavitaran.

Commenting on the issue, Nana Patole said that the government could have prevented the three-day strike called by the employees, officers and engineers against the privatization of Mahavitaran. Now that the strike has started and Maharashtra has been plugged into darkness, the government is pretending to hold talks. If it had been discussed earlier, the people of Maharashtra would not have suffered.

By taking over the electricity distribution in the urban areas, the private company will make a profit while in the rural areas, the general public and the farmers will stop getting the discounted electricity, the expensive electricity cannot be afforded by the farmers and the rural people.

But the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has nothing to do with the people. The BJP government, which is running the country by selling assets of the country, is now going to sell Maharashtra. The most important Mumbai airport in the country and the largest slum in Asia, the Dharavi redevelopment project has been handed over to Adani and now this is a plan to put Mahavitaran in Adani’s lap as well.

This strike of electricity employees is not for a salary increase or for their own benefit but to avoid future inconvenience to common electricity consumers and we support them.

Since the formation of the Shinde-Fadnavis government, the importance of Maharashtra is being reduced at the behest of Delhi. The Rs 1.54 lakh crore Vedanta-Foxconn project along with other important projects were sent to Gujarat causing huge financial loss to Maharashtra, and loss of employment to lakhs of youth.

In order to increase investment in Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath is coming to Mumbai on January 4 and 5 and he is going to hold discussions with industrialists and important people from the film industry. “Now the Khoke government will now send the remaining projects to Uttar Pradesh”, remarked Nana Patole. He also appealed that the people should take note of this crooked intention of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
