Amid rising cases in Maharashtra government has imposed strict restrictions in the state and due to this many people are facing problems. To help auto and taxi drivers, President of Kamgar Seva Sangh Krishna Hegde has written a letter to Amit Agarwal (Managing Director – Amazon India).
Mr Hegde has requested Amazon to help auto and taxi drivers who are facing loss of livelihood/income in this Covid19 Pandemic by using their services.
“We would be happy if Amazon can look into engaging services of Auto rickshaw drivers /Taxi drivers in Mumbai and outside…to deliver their products”, Krishna Hegde said in a letter to Amazon.
He has also said that same services can be used by other E-commerce companies like Flipkart, Ajio and many others.
Maharashtra has seen a huge rise in covid-19 cases, yesterday the state registered 58,952 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the tally to 35,78,160, while 278 new fatalities pushed the toll to 58,804, the state health department said.
In view of an alarming rise in cases, the state government has announced 15-day-long stricter measures which came into force at 8 pm on Wednesday and will remain in operation till 7 am on May 1. Maharashtra on April 11 had reported 63,294 COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day tally so far.
