Maharashtra: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Sanjay Raut announced on Thursday that the party’s Women’s Wing will lead the “Sindoor Raksha” movement this Sunday across Maharashtra, in solidarity with the 26 mothers affected by the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

The attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, was followed by Operation Sindoor on May 7, in which the Indian armed forces carried out precision strikes targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

Speaking on X, Raut said, “In the Pahalgam attack, the sindoor of 26 mothers was wiped away. Their outrage has not yet subsided. Operation Sindoor, launched to break terrorist Pakistan, is still ongoing.” He sharply criticized the upcoming India-Pakistan cricket match in Abu Dhabi on September 14, claiming it disrespects the victims and called it “outright treason”. He added, “The children of BJP ministers will surely go to watch it. Against this, Shiv Sena (UBT) Women’s Wing will hold the Sindoor Raksha movement on Sunday.”

Raut also took aim at the Central government’s foreign policy failures, alleging neglect of India’s neighbors. “Nepal once considered India as the elder brother. When Nepal faced a crisis, the elder brother did not stand with them. This is the failure of our foreign policy,” he said, linking domestic issues like youth unemployment to governmental shortcomings.

He further addressed national governance, stating, “Prime Minister Modi provides free ration to 80 crore people, yet poverty persists. Meanwhile, India’s wealth is going abroad; sons of the elite are in Dubai and Singapore, some become cricket chairmen.”
