Mumbai Metropolitan Region @2034 Infra Summit to be held on October 15

The conference will be hosted in Mumbai by Rahul Shewale and Shrikant Shinde, both Members of the Parliament. The Chief Minister and PWD Minister of Maharashtra, along with other dignitaries, will attend the ceremony.

Mumbai: Mumbai Metropolitan Region @ 2034, a special summit to discuss and deliberate upon improving the basic infrastructure of Mumbai, India’s financial capital, as well as its surrounding MMR region, will be held in the city on October 15, 2022.

Experts from a variety of government departments and the private sector involved in developing quality infrastructure will convene at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai for a day-long summit being organised under the guidance of Lok Sabha MP’s Rahul Shewale and Dr. Shrikant Shinde with the help of Construction Times to discuss a future development plan for Greater Mumbai.

This summit will be inaugurated by Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde, Public Works Department (PWD) Minister of Maharashtra, Ravindra Chavan, will attend the concluding session of the summit where he will be presented with a white paper highlighting expert suggestions on improving basic facilities provided to the people.

The Chief Minister will also present the BAM Awards 2022 honouring the city’s best builders, architects, and building material suppliers for their role in creating quality infrastructure.

The summit will comprise multiple sessions that will touch upon various subjects such as modern technology for roads, solid waste management, slum-free Mumbai – Dharavi redevelopment, road transport, water logging, and real estate and have deliberations to draw up a list of concrete solutions. In addition to this, a presentation will also be given by the Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) of the state government.

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Global Solution Summit 2022 is recognized by prominent entities like Mumbai Metropolitan Region Authority (MMRDA), Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA), Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). Senior government officials from these departments will also present their plans.

“The summit is a platform meant to deliberate and discuss how we can improve Mumbai’s existing infrastructure. Waste management, modern road technology, green construction and real estate, drainage issues, solutions to water logging, redeveloping Dharavi, and transport solutions will be deliberated by experts. Concerns encountered during infrastructure development, and the solutions to these problems will also be examined in depth. We will also be handing over a White Paper on Mumbai’s infrastructure needs to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde after this summit. The idea is to ensure that these suggestions are implemented by periodically reviewing the job accomplished,” said MP Rahul Ramesh Shewale.
