358 Covid immunization centres in Maha: Health Minister Tope

Mumbai: Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope today said that the Covid-19 vaccines supplied by the centre are being distributed to all districts as per their instructions. 

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai this afternoon,  Tope informed that the central government has revised the number of vaccination centres in the state and now vaccination will be given through 358 centres. Of these, the highest 50 centres are in Mumbai followed by 39 in Pune and 29 in Thane. 

He also told that  1,39,500 doses have been distributed for Mumbai and 113000 doses for Pune.

Tope further informed that about 8 lakh health workers have been registered in the state and they will be vaccinated in the first phase. He said that about 35,000 health workers will be vaccinated on the first day through 358 centres in the state.

Tope said that the Prime Minister will interact through video conferencing at Jalna District Hospital and Cooper Hospital in Mumbai. 

According to Tope, 963000 vaccines have been distributed in all the districts of Maharashtra.
