In a heartbreaking incident on Friday, September 15, a young schoolgirl tragically lost her life after a group of boys harassed her, leading to a fatal accident. The victim, a 17-year-old girl, was returning home from school when the incident occurred in the Hanswar police station area of Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.

According to eyewitnesses, the miscreants identified as Shahbaz and his brother Arbaaz, both in their early 20s, were riding a motorcycle and allegedly pulled the girl’s dupatta, an act intended to tease and outrage her modesty. The victim attempted to retrieve her dupatta, but tragically fell to the ground.

As the distressing situation unfolded, another youth named Faisal, also from the Hanswar police station area, happened to pass by on his motorcycle. In a cruel twist of fate, he ran over the girl’s head, inflicting severe head injuries and a broken jaw. Despite immediate efforts to rush her to the hospital, the young girl succumbed to her injuries and bled to death.

A video of the incident quickly went viral on social media, prompting an outcry from the public and a swift response from law enforcement authorities. Superintendent of Police, Ambedkar Nagar, Ajit Kumar Sinha, confirmed that a case has been registered against the three accused—Mohammed Faisal, Shahbaz, and Arbaaz—under charges of outraging modesty and causing death due to negligence. All three were promptly arrested on Saturday.

In a further development, just a day after the incident, on Sunday, September 17, the Uttar Pradesh police engaged in an encounter with the accused molesters, Shahbaz and Faisal. The accused were reportedly attempting to flee from the authorities to avoid arrest. During the confrontation, two of the suspects sustained gunshot wounds in their legs as officials attempted to detain them. The third accused, believed to be a minor, fractured his leg and voluntarily surrendered to the police.

Visuals circulating on the internet depict the injured individuals being transported by police officials with their legs suspended in the air, clearly showing their bullet wounds. As of now, there have been no official reports on the medical condition of the accused individuals.

This tragic incident has once again highlighted the pressing issue of women’s safety in India and the need for effective measures to prevent such heart-wrenching incidents from occurring in the future.
