National Legislators’ Conference Inaugurated in Mumbai to Strengthen India’s Democracy

The first National Legislators’ Conference was inaugurated in Mumbai by Lok Sabha Speaker Hon Om Birla and Maharashtra Legislative Council Deputy Speaker Dr. Neelam Gorhe. The event was attended by several prominent figures including Adv. Rahul Narwekar, former Speakers of Lok Sabha Shivraj Patil-Chakurkar, Dr. Meira Kumari , Sumitratai Mahajan, conference organizer Rahul Karad, and founder of MIT Dr. Vishwanath Karad.

The three-day conference aimed to strengthen democracy in India and to brainstorm ideas to make it more prosperous. Hundreds of legislators and leaders from various states of India gathered to participate in the event.

During the opening address, Hon Om Birla welcomed the attendees to the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He emphasized that the conference is an opportunity to enrich the values of India’s democracy and to make India a developed nation in the Amrit Kaal, the 25 years period as coined by Hon PM Narendra Modi.

The Indian democracy was praised for being the largest and strongest in the world. The unique Indian constitution was also highlighted for providing checks and balances, being answerable to the people, and for paving the way to achieve goals for the welfare of individuals.

The conference is expected to yield good results and insights to help achieve India’s goals. The event will encourage the brainstorming of ideas to make India’s democracy more prosperous. The attendees will work together to overcome their differences and take the country forward.
