Even though Maharashtra is showing decline in Covid cases the government has decided to extend the lockdown for more 15 days.
“At the Cabinet meeting, the health department and ministers proposed to extend the lockdown for 15 days. The chief minister will take a final decision on this matter,” Rajesh Tope said.
Earlier, the Covid-19 task force had also suggested the state government to extend the lockdown period to break the chain of the coronavirus. Although cases have shown a downward trend, the state government is of the view that strict restrictions on the movement of people should continue so that the state may not see the third wave of the pandemic.
