Missiles have been fired near the US embassy in Baghdad, officials in Iraq have confirmed, adding an additional three were launched at Balad Airbase housing US troops.
No injuries have been reported after the Katyusha rocket fell inside Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone. The Zone houses government buildings and the US embassy. Two police sources told Reuters the rocket fell today and hit another building inside the Green Zone’s Celebrations Square.
