Praniti Shinde, a potential Congress candidate, has been actively campaigning in the Solapur reserved Lok Sabha constituency under the guise of village visits, even as the ruling BJP has not announced its candidate. While criticizing the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she has made controversial statements regarding the coronavirus vaccine, accusing the Modi government of corruption in the election bond scheme.
Shinde alleged that there has been massive corruption in the election bond scheme, with the BJP recovering thousands of crores through election bonds with the help of central investigation agencies. She commented on the election bonds purchased by the Serum Institute, the company that manufactured the Covid-19 vaccine.
In a shocking claim, Shinde stated that 80 percent of the companies pledged by the Modi government helped the BJP through election bonds. During the pandemic, the Modi government procured the Covid-19 vaccine from the Serum Institute of India and forced people to take two doses, issuing certificates with the Prime Minister’s image.
Shinde accused the Modi government of cultivating vested interests, alleging that the Serum Institute bought election bonds worth one hundred crores as repayment for the vaccine purchase. She raised doubts about the intent behind the Covid-19 vaccine, claiming that countless people who received the vaccine later developed diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and other ailments.
“It is doubtful whether this Covid-19 vaccine was meant to kill people’s lives,” Shinde said, adding that her universal experience was coming to the fore.
The controversial remarks by the MLA have sparked a heated debate, with the opposition accusing the government of a potential “vaccine scam” and demanding an independent investigation into the matter.
