Thousands throng at Vashi, Dadar, Thane and Bhiwandi to buy vegetables.
Least bothered about their and other’s lives.
Mumbai: Even as hundreds of people are dying due to deadly Corona virus, people in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane are still crowding at market places to buy vegetables and other commodities. The mad rush, despite the government assuring steady supply of essential commodities, will prove detrimental to the hard work put in by the administration to contain the deadly virus.
Defying the total lockdown thousands of people are flocking to the APMC Market at Vashi, and vegetable markets at Dadar, Thane and Bhiwandi risking lives. They are not only exposing themselves to the threat of Corona, but also becoming the medium to spread it in the community. According to the experts, India is passing through critical phase of Corona pandemic and everyone needs to be very careful about prevention.
Since the government has allowed transportation and sale of essential commodities, vegetables are being brought in at APMC and other markets in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane. Ignoring all the warnings thousands of people are gathering at AMPC market, Vashi, alone. Such an irresponsible behaviour is bound to have fatal consequences for the entire society.
This is high time that people realised the gravity of the problem and followed government instructions in total. “No one should be under impression that they are immune to Corona virus. We have no other option but to adhere to the instructions given by the administration and government. Cooperate with police and civic administration,” said minister Jayant Patil.
People must understand the reason behind the 21 days lockdown announced by the government. “This is the crucial period when the symptoms of Corona would be visible and detectable. If we don’t follow the lockdown in total, the consequences would be devastating,” Patil said. The world has not seen such a pandemic in the entire history. The number of deaths and new infections is unprecedented, he added.
