Vadodara: A tragic road accident in Gujarat’s Vadodara on Thursday night claimed the life of a woman and left seven others injured after a car, allegedly driven by a drunk law student, rammed into multiple two-wheelers in the Karelibag area. The shocking incident, caught on CCTV, has sparked outrage among locals.

The accused, identified as Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia, a law student at MS University, was reportedly driving a black car at over 100 kmph when he lost control and crashed. Police confirmed that the vehicle first struck a two-wheeler, killing a woman on the spot, before injuring several others. The victims are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.

Vadodara Joint CP Leena Patil confirmed the arrest of the accused, stating, “A four-wheeler rammed into a two-wheeler, causing one fatality. The accused driver has been caught. Police are conducting further investigations… this is a case of drunk driving.”

Eyewitnesses described a scene of chaos and panic. The speeding car took a sharp turn near Amrapali Complex, sending people scrambling for safety. Some managed to escape, while others were not as fortunate.

Shockingly, after the accident, Chaurasia emerged from the wrecked vehicle, shouting ‘another round, another round’ before chanting ‘Om Namah Shivay’, enraging the onlookers. Furious bystanders thrashed him before police arrived and took him into custody.

Authorities have also arrested Pranshu Chauhan, the owner of the vehicle, on suspicion that both were intoxicated at the time of the accident.
