Pune: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) West Zone has introduced a special ‘Bharat Gaurav train’ service from Pune to Prayagraj for pilgrims attending the Mahakumbh Mela 2025. Operating under the package titled ‘Mahakumbh Gram IRCTC Tent City at Prayagraj,’ the train will run between January 15 and February 23, providing seamless travel, meals, and accommodation for pilgrims visiting the holy event.
Aligned with the government’s ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ initiative to promote domestic tourism, the train will accommodate around 750 passengers in its 14 coaches. It will stop at major spiritual hubs, including Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya, with boarding stations at Pune, Lonavala, Karjat, Panvel, Kalyan, Nashik, Manmad, Chalisgaon, Jalgaon, and Bhusaval.
Ticket pricing for the journey is categorized as:
- Economy Class (Sleeper): ₹22,940
- Standard Class (3AC): ₹32,440
- Comfort Class (2AC): ₹40,130
This special initiative ensures that pilgrims can comfortably participate in one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.
