In response to the escalating security situation in West Asia, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India expressed deep concern on Wednesday regarding the ongoing conflict involving Israel, Iran, and Lebanon. The MEA emphasized the importance of preventing the conflict from expanding into a broader regional crisis.
“We are deeply concerned at the escalation of the security situation in West Asia and reiterate our call for restraint by all concerned and protection of civilians,” stated the MEA in an official statement. The ministry urged all parties involved to seek resolution through dialogue and diplomacy, underscoring the need for calm amidst rising tensions.
The statement comes in light of Iran’s recent military actions, which included firing several rockets at Israel as a form of retaliation for the deaths of prominent leaders associated with Hamas and Hezbollah, who were backed by Tehran.
