In an unprecedented turn of events, Rani Durgavati University in Jabalpur found itself in the midst of controversy after failing to administer the MSc Computer Science exam as scheduled. Despite releasing the timetable and issuing admit cards, the university overlooked the necessary arrangements, leaving students in a state of confusion and frustration.

The debacle unfolded when students arrived at the university on March 5, expecting to sit for their MSc Computer Science exams, only to be informed that the examination would not take place. Shocked and dismayed, students expressed their disappointment to local media, revealing that they had spent the previous night preparing for the exam, only to be met with an unexpected cancellation.

“This is a serious case of negligence on the part of the university administration. How can they forget about the date sheet and fail to make necessary arrangements for conducting the exam? The students worked hard to prepare, but they were deceived,” remarked Sachin Rajak, a leader of the NSUI organization.

Frustrated by the turn of events, students staged protests at the university, demanding accountability and answers from university officials. Responding to the outcry, university vice chancellor RK Verma convened a meeting with department heads and engaged with the aggrieved students.

Verma assured students that an inquiry had been initiated into the matter, acknowledging that while the exam controller claimed to have postponed the exam, it remained unclear why the decision was not communicated to the college and students. He pledged to take appropriate action against responsible officials once the probe report was completed.

As of now, new exam dates have not been announced, leaving students uncertain about their academic future. University authorities have urged students to stay in touch with their respective departments to receive updates and avoid any further disruptions.

The incident at Rani Durgavati University serves as a stark reminder of the importance of effective communication and meticulous planning in academic institutions, highlighting the repercussions of administrative oversight on students’ academic pursuits.
