However, individuals who were issued a PAN card on or before July 1, 2017, are required to link it with their Aadhaar card. Failure to do so by June 30, 2023, will result in a fine of Rs 1,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, as per the provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961, even non-residents are not obligated to link their Aadhaar and PAN cards. The linking requirement also does not apply to individuals who are 80 years of age or older or those who were not citizens of India during the previous year.
