Quetta: A devastating car bomb ripped through a busy street outside the Frontier Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Quetta on Tuesday, killing at least eight people and injuring more than 19, officials confirmed.

Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar warned that the casualty count could rise as rescue operations continue, according to Pakistani publication Dawn. The blast was so powerful that it shattered windows of nearby homes and commercial buildings, while gunfire erupted soon after, sending waves of panic through Model Town and surrounding areas.

Emergency Response and Investigation
Rescue teams, police, and security personnel rushed to the site, cordoning off the area to secure the vicinity and assist victims. A senior police officer confirmed to reporters, “An investigation is underway to determine the nature of the attack and identify the perpetrators.”

All victims were rushed to Civil Hospital Quetta, where an emergency was declared. Similar alerts were issued for BMC Hospital and the Trauma Center, with doctors, nurses, and paramedics placed on immediate duty under the directives of Health Minister Kakar and Health Secretary Mujeeb-ur-Rehman.
