Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has intensified his political attack on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath by unveiling another AI-generated video, bringing artificial intelligence further into the political battle ahead of the 2027 Assembly election.
The short motion film was screened by Yadav during a press conference and uses an old Bollywood-style setting to create a fictional face-off between the SP chief and the Uttar Pradesh chief minister. The video presents Yadav as an “angry young man” confronting a fictionalised version of Adityanath over several issues concerning the state government.
The latest video comes days after another AI-generated clip involving Yogi Adityanath triggered a political controversy, with the BJP accusing the SP of insulting religious traditions. The BJP and SP have since traded accusations over the use of AI-generated political content.
Yogi portrayed as political antagonist in AI film
The newly screened film uses the visual language of 1980s Hindi cinema. Yogi Adityanath is portrayed as a powerful political character sitting in a dark room surrounded by associates, while Akhilesh Yadav appears as the character challenging him.
The fictional conversation covers issues such as women’s safety, corruption, infrastructure, education and the condition of farmers.
The video also repeatedly uses the name “Ajay Seth” for Yogi Adityanath, a fictionalised reference to his birth name, Ajay Bisht.
The portrayal and allegations in the AI film are part of the SP’s political messaging and are not established findings of an independent investigation.
Akhilesh attacks government over prices and poverty
One portion of the video focuses on the cost of essential goods.
Akhilesh Yadav’s character is shown attacking the fictional chief minister over the prices of sugar, cooking gas and ration.
“Aaj tumhare raj mein cheeni jaan se zyada mehangi ho gayi hai… Cylinder, gas, ration sab mehanga hai. Sasti hai toh bas garib ki jaan.”
The line translates to: “Today, under your rule, sugar has become more expensive than human life… Gas cylinders and rations have all become expensive. The only thing that remains cheap is the life of the poor.”
The film uses this exchange to present the SP’s criticism of the BJP government’s handling of inflation and issues affecting lower-income households.
AI character claims spending on PR
Another section of the video focuses on political publicity.
The character representing Yogi is shown boasting about the government’s public relations machinery and claiming that large sums are being spent to manage its public image.
“I spend more than 2 crore rupees in my PR. I spend more than Modi’s PR,” the character is shown saying.
Akhilesh’s character then responds that the support he receives from people in Uttar Pradesh is more important than any publicity machinery.
The claim about PR spending is presented within the fictional AI-generated video and should not be treated as an independently verified figure.
Video raises allegations over governance
The film also attacks the state government on several other issues, including alleged corruption, construction quality, women’s safety, education and farmer distress.
It additionally depicts the fictional Yogi character making controversial statements about political tactics and donations connected to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
These scenes represent allegations and political satire created for the video rather than established findings against the chief minister.
The film ends with a crowd shown outside the building, with supporters carrying placards promoting the Samajwadi Party’s “PDA Sarkar” message for 2027.
AI becomes new battlefield in UP politics
The latest video is part of a growing exchange between the BJP and SP involving AI-generated political content.
Earlier in September, another AI video linked to the SP and Yogi Adityanath became the subject of a political controversy. The BJP accused the SP of insulting Sanatan traditions and religious figures, while the SP has highlighted the use of AI-generated material against Akhilesh Yadav.
The issue has turned AI-generated videos into a new element of political campaigning in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 Assembly election.
Reports have described the development as an emerging “AI war” between the BJP and SP, with both sides using digitally created material to attack their political opponents.
SP and BJP continue digital campaign battle
The latest video adds another chapter to the ongoing political confrontation between Akhilesh Yadav and Yogi Adityanath.
While the SP is using the AI film to highlight issues it says are failures of the BJP government, the BJP has previously criticised similar content as offensive and politically misleading.
With the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election approaching, the use of AI-generated videos is likely to remain an important part of the wider political communication battle, alongside rallies, speeches and social media campaigns.
