Noida: The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards brought some of music’s biggest names to the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 27, with Snoop Dogg hosting the ceremony. Madonna emerged as the night’s biggest winner with seven awards, while Taylor Swift took home Video of the Year and made VMA history by becoming the most-awarded artist in the awards’ history. Madonna won Artist of the Year, Best Album and Best Dance among her seven trophies, with Confessions II – The Film accounting for several of her wins. She also shared Best Collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter for “Bring Your Love”.
Swift won Video of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia” and Best Direction for “Opalite”. She was also presented with the first-ever MTV VMA Artist Director Honors, recognising her body of work as a music-video director and visual storyteller. The three wins took Swift’s career VMA total to 33, moving her past Beyoncé’s previous total of 30.
