FIR Filed Against BJP Leaders Nishikant Dubey, Manoj Tiwari for Alleged Forced Entry into Baba Baidyanath Temple

Deoghar: The Jharkhand Police have registered an FIR against BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey, Manoj Tiwari, and several others over allegations of forcibly entering the sanctum sanctorum of the Baba Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar, despite restrictions on VIP access during the holy month of ‘Shravan’.

The incident, which took place on August 2 between 8:45 pm and 9:00 pm, allegedly created panic and fear among thousands of devotees gathered at the temple, one of the twelve revered Jyotirlingas in India. According to police, a scuffle broke out between security personnel and the BJP leaders, causing chaos and disrupting the smooth flow of pilgrims.

Temple priest Kartik Nath Thakur filed the complaint, stating that the leaders breached restrictions meant to preserve religious traditions and ensure safety during the heavy influx of ‘Kanwariyas’ in Shravan. “They entered the inner shrine of the temple, hurting religious sentiments and obstructing government work,” a police officer told PTI.

The FIR, registered at the Baba Baidyanath Mandir Police Station on August 7, names Nishikant Dubey, Manoj Tiwari, Kanshikanat Dubey, Sheshadri Dubey, and others, invoking multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Reacting to the development, Nishikant Dubey took to X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Due to performing worship, this is the case. So far, 51 cases have been registered against me. Tomorrow, I will go straight from Deoghar Airport to the police station to surrender.”
