The actor Sushant’s close friend Rhea Chakraborty revealed that actor was not permitted to work with other filmmaker citing intricacies of clauses in the contract between the late actor and renowned production house. However, the rule laid down was different for others and it hurt Sushant deeply
Mumbai: The actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead in his apartment on June 14, was extremely upset over his contract with the leading film production house, told the actor Rhea Chakraborty to Mumbai Police.
However parameters were different for other lead actor based on closeness, and nepotism. The actor took up film from another production house and was massive hit, Sushant was deeply hurt by this ill-treatment and favoritism of the production house.
The investigators grilled Rhea for about 9-hours in Bandra Police Station on Thursday and during the questioning to cops she told that Rajput had a three – film contract with the production house however in the year 2012 he was offered film by another leading filmmaker. Citing intricacies of contract the production house did not let Sushant do the film.
The actor Rhea Chakraborty in her statement told the police that “The production did not allow him to work with the filmmaker citing intricacies of the contract, however they allowed another actor having the same clauses to take up outside projects” said a senior official.

Following the order by the state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh Bandra Police is investigating the alleged suicide case of the Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Deshmukh took the serious cognizance of reports in media of professional rivalry could be the cause of clinical depression which eventually led to the alleged suicide by the actor on June 14.
Sushant was upset that another actor who too had a contract with the same production house , was allowed to take up a new project with another filmmaker and later the film released in 2013 and became a massive hit on box office.
“Thus Sushant had decided not to work in the third film of his contract which was released in 2013 with another actor in lead role , ” an official said.
Rhea told cops that she had been living with Rajput in his apartment in Mount Blanc in Bandra . In fact they were together during lockdown. The duo had plans for marriage by the end of this year.
So far police has recorded statement of 13 people including Sushant’s family members and close friends like Rhea and Mukesh Chhabra.
