Shiv Sena takes on the bull by the horn on BJP attack on Aditya Thackeray

Mumbai: The shadow boxing between the Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the death of actor Sushant SIngh Rajput attained new lows on August 4 forcing Thackeray heir Aditya Thackeray to break his silence and issue a statement on the same. The Shiv Sena reacted sharply against the BJP attacks and came out strongly on multiple fronts taking the BJP by the horns.

The Thackeray scion, who has been continuously under veiled attack from the BJP citing links of “a young minister from the Maharashtra government” with the death of Rajput, finally issued a statement. Reacting to the attacks sharply, Aditya Thackeray denied having any links with the death and stated that there was nothing wrong in having good relations with people from the film industry that offered employment to thousands and was an important aspect of Mumbai.

Invoking his grandfather Shiv Sena Bal Thackeray, the environment minister stated that he would not do anything to bring disrepute either to Maharashtra, Shiv Sena or to the Thackeray family. He accused the BJP of trying to divert the investigations of the world-renowned Mumbai police that was conducting an in-depth investigation on the case and accused them of not having faith in due legal procedures.

He also accused the BJP of indulging in mud-slinging against him as they couldn’t digest the success of the Thackeray government in Maharashtra but stated that he would continue to maintain a dignified patience on the issue.  Earlier, transport minister and senior Sena leader Anil Parab strongly retorted against those linking Aditya Thackeray to the death of Rajput.

Secretary of Yuva Sena Varun Sardesai sharply too reacted to a derogatory reference to Maharashtrians rural folks in a tweet by Thakur Janardhan Singh, deputy chief of North-Central part of the Mumbai BJP, while asking for the case to be handed to the CBI . Sardesai wondered where the BJP workers derived their strength from to insult Maharashtrians despite staying in Mumbai.

He also called out a tweet by Amruta Fadnavis’ on August 3 that he said had cast aspersions on the capabilities of the Mumbai police force. Sardesai was exhorted by many Twitterati, who offered their support to him, to teach a befitting lesson to those who insulted Maharashtrians in such manner. Some though questioned the Shiv Sena’s silence on the diatribe launched by Arnab Goswami against chief minister Uddhav Thackeray while picking up on small fries in the BJP. The SushantSinghRajputcase# was trending at fifth position on twitter on Tuesday evening above even the Mumbai rains issue.
