Give 48 hour free hand to police to evict illegal Bangladeshi’s & Pakistani’s, says Raj

Mumbai: In a riposte of sorts to 2013 remark of MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on giving free hand, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Raj Thackeray on Sunday thundered “there is no use of asking this state government for anything. I am going to ask the Centre – give the police 48 hours free hand, the clean-up of these illegal Bangladeshi and Pakistani immigrants needs to be done. They (police) can bring the crime rate to zero”. He said this while addressing a ‘Pakistani, Bangladeshi Ghuskhoranno – Chale Jao’  (Go away Pakistani, Bangladeshi infiltrators) rally in support of CAA at Azad Maidan.

Sounding belligerent of old, he added “today we have responded with a morcha to your morcha, or else, tomorrow a stone will be responded with a stone, a sword will be responded with a sword. Chiding the Hindu community for waking only at times of riots, he said that at other times the community does not care about the imminent danger it faces. He said that the police had informed him that at least 2 crore illegal Bangladeshi’s have come into India. Many illegal Pakistani’s have sneaked into the country via Nepal.

Referring to the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) morcha’s taken out across the country, he said that he could not fathom the reason for these morcha’s. “The CAA law is of just 4 lines. Many do not know the meaning of the new CAA and National Register of Citizens (NRC). I could not understand the reason behind these morcha’s, who is going to evict all those who are born and brought up here? We have responded with a morcha to those who have taken out morcha’s without understanding the law”

Thackeray claimed that recently the police alerted him to regular visits of Maulavi’s from foreign countries to a particular place and urged him to take note of the serious diabolical plans being hatched there. Stating that he had nothing against Muslims who are born and brought in this soil, he urged them to come forward and immediately inform the police about such seditious activities.

Seeking to defend the CAA, the MNS chief wanted to know whether the country had become a dormitory for anybody to come and do whatever they want. The MNS chief said that the infiltration has become a major and vexed issue. “Why every time India should be the torchbearer for Humanitarian causes. In US and other European countries they have now begun taking strict action against illegal immigrants. They are given just two options – get deported to their country, or land up in the jail. Every nation has the right to take tough measures to protect its own citizens”, Thackeray remarked further.

Commenting upon the bracketing of criticism, Thackeray remarked that the moment you praise the government you are labeled as a BJP supporter, if you criticize the government then you are anti-BJP. “Is there no middle ground to all this? Whenever the Centre has taken any wrong decision I have criticized them. After abrogation of Article 370, CAA or the setting up of the trust for construction of Lord Ram temple, I have congratulated the good decisions of the Centre”, remarked Thackeray. He however, warned the Centre that was it bringing the law to hide the economic instability?

Referring to the 2012 riots during the Raza Academy morcha at Azad Maidan over the Rakhine riots in Assam, he said that some participants had tried to misbehave with women police officers. Thackeray added that after the riots police showed him a Bangladeshi passport recovered which was like a one way entry.

Defending the CAA, he said that Pakistan has become a den for terrorist. Thackeray said that the mastermind of the March 1993 serial bomb blasts Dawood Ibrahim is holed up in Pakistan. US took out 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden also from Pakistan. Assuring that the NRC will not affect those who are born and brought up here, he said that in recent years situation in Pakistan has undergone drastic change and religious minorities – Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis, Jains, Christians and Buddhists are being persecuted.

He said that there is no control or shape to the burgeoning 135 crore population. He further wanted to know that if the minorities from Pakistan fearing persecution come and seek refuge here, should the country not give them citizenship. Countering the argument of why not Muslims, he wanted to know as who are the minorities in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
