CRY and Lemonade come together to provide COVID-19 relief

Come be a part of #ShareKarona and help millions across the country

Mumbai: In an effort to provide relief to those affected by Covid-19, leading child rights NGO CRY-Child Rights and You, along with the social platform Lemonade kickstarted the #ShareKaroNa Festival on Lemonade Social, a social media platform on May 17, 2020. Having garnered terrific response since then, the festival will now close on July 17, 2020.

The festival since its opening has gathered over 100 supporters and has seen support from over 40 collaborators, including artists, chefs, musicians, fitness experts and more and reached over a million people on social media. Experiences include, tandoori nights with celebrity chef Varun Inamdar, pilates mat flow with celebrity fitness instructor Yasmin Karachiwala, the art of juggling with mixologist Ami Shroff, live fire show with Yacobeh, healing sounds from Asia by Rahul Jigyasa and more!

Children from underprivileged communities are at the greatest risk during our shared struggle against COVID – 19 and CRY has been at the forefront of India’s battle for at-risk children.

As the lockdown forced people to stay indoors and practise social distancing – the global creator community came together for a one whole month sharing skills ranging from fitness, to mixology lessons, to home style gigs, cooking classes and more! This gave them a chance to not only use their talents to raise funds for a good cause – but allowed audiences to support the cause of children while having access to a gamut of online experiences.

Celebrity fitness instructor Yasmin Karachiwala who was one of the collaborators says, “During these uncertain times, it is important to talk about and help India’s underprivileged children – as they are one of the most vulnerable sections of the society and are the unseen victims of this pandemic. The work CRY has been doing is phenomenal on that front, and I was more than happy to be a part of this lovely initiative to help ensure brighter childhoods for India’s children, as we all deal with this global pandemic.”

Celebrity Chef and CRY Champion Varun Inamdar who too had hosted a show at the festival says “It is terrifying and heartbreaking to see how underprivileged some children are in our country. The lockdown has affected their lives furthermore and is poised to have long term effects on their future – health, education, morale included. The cause of India’s children is one that is close to my heart and as a CRY Champion it magnifies it. #ShareKaroNa allowed me to not only do my bit – by sharing what I do best for fans across the world – but also allowed me to raise awareness and funds for India’s underprivileged children and bring a difference to their lives.”

Kreeanne Rabadi, Regional Director, CRY –West said that CRY was happy to be part of such a collaboration that manages to reach out to a large number of people from different backgrounds. “CRY has always been instrumental over the years in supporting underprivileged children and we hope more and more people can be a part of this unique initiative.”

“One of our key pillars at Lemonade is helping build a platform of experiences, powered by creators for positive social impact. Our global creator community is built on this foundation. It was amazing to 30+ creators from across music, food, yoga, fitness, art, mixology come together to host a month long festival in support of CRY. We are humbled to have begun a partnership and be able to play a small role in pursuit of their mission to bring a happier, healthier childhood in India,” says Kritarth Chhabra, Co- founder Lemonade Social.
